Aspergillosis in Heart
Abstract
The aspergilli are most common group of fungi in man’s environment, which are
found in the soil. Worldwide, aspergillosis occurs with no apparent age, sex and race differentials. Cardiac fungal infections occur more frequently in immunocompromised patients and in patients undergoing cardiac surgery but it can occur in de novo. There is improved outcome of cardiac aspergillosis with antifungal treatment. Here, we report a case of cardiac aspergillosis in which there was no underlying risk factor.
