Abstract

Urinothorax, the presence of urine in the pleural space, is an uncommon cause of pleural effusion, often associated with obstructive uropathy or urinary trauma. Respiratory symptoms may not always be present, with urological symptoms often predominating. Diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion, with confirmation typically reliant on a pleural fluid creatinine-to-serum creatinine ratio exceeding 1.0. we are presenting a case report of A 32-year-old male presented with dyspnea and dry cough, initially suspected to have parapneumonic or malignant pleural effusion. However, a thoracotomy revealed pleural fluid consistent with urine, confirmed by laboratory analysis.
